Welcome to Meadows Park Community Preschool!
Our mission is to focus on each child’s cognitive, social, physical and emotional needs in a nurturing environment.
Thank you for considering Meadows Park Community Preschool. We are a licensed preschool that provides experiences that enrich each child’s cognitive, social, physical and emotional needs with caring, experienced teachers in a nurturing environment.
Our curriculum is designed to capitalize on your child's natural curiosity and promote development by supplying a rich variety of experiences. We use the Creative Curriculum to guide our daily activities, Handwriting Without Tears, Mighy Moves/ Food Friends to support our classroom learning. Social skills are taught through the participation in The Incredible Years Dinosaur School. Additionally, because preschool is perhaps the first time your child will be seperated from you and familiar surroundings, we will help your child develop appropriate ways of relating to new friends and adults, to share, and to develop self control and responsibility in a safe, and warm, loving environment.
Our ratios are two teachers with twenty children. We are able to distinctly design the environment and teaching methods to meet the specific needs of your child. Children are provided a variety of approaches that helps support growth in all developmental domains and specific content areas. Learning occurs throughout the daily planned investigations and play-based activities. Teachers also use assessments and classroom observations to help create an individual learning plan for your child.
Because children are natually creative, we offer ample opportunities to enhance their creativity through art, music, and play. Language development, number concepts, and reading readiness will be explored. Fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination are built through fingerplays, puzzles, manipulative toys and art activities. Sensory discrimination experiences are provided by comparing and contrasting colors, shapes and sizes. Large muscles are developed through activities such as running, skipping, jumping, and creative movements.
We strive to maintain open communication between home and school. Parents are invited to visit the school at any time.
The program will not be held when Harrison District 2 schools are closed or on a delay due to inclement weather.
Diakonia (Greek for service) is the name of the community service arm of Wilson United Methodist Church. The sole purpose of this tax exempt, non-profit, corporation is to provide service to families and children locally, nationally and internationally.
